Case Study: VolkerFitzpatrick Ping Pong Challenge Show
VolkerFitzpatrick | Senior Leadership Team Event | UK
The Brief
VolkerFitzpatrick, one of the UK’s leading engineering and construction companies, wanted a fun, social and active way to bring their national senior management team together at the end of the year.
With many participants meeting in person for the first time, the brief was to create an experience that would strengthen relationships, encourage collaboration and deliver a relaxed, light-hearted atmosphere — while still feeling inclusive and engaging for everyone.
The Solution
We designed and hosted a bespoke Ping Pong Challenge Show, tailored specifically for VolkerFitzpatrick’s senior leadership team.
On the day, participants were placed into random doubles teams, ensuring colleagues mixed with people they didn’t usually work alongside. The competition followed a friendly round-robin format, keeping energy levels high and involvement consistent throughout.
Before the matches began, teams took part in a personalised mobile trivia game, featuring questions about VolkerFitzpatrick – including moments from the company’s history and major national projects. Winners of the trivia rounds earned Sabotage Cards, which could be deployed during matches to introduce playful twists, such as forcing opponents to play with their non-dominant hand.
The event built towards an exciting final match between the top two teams, with medals awarded to the champions and plenty of cheering from the sidelines.
The Result
The Ping Pong Challenge Show delivered an inclusive, high-energy team experience that brought colleagues together in a genuinely fun and memorable way.
The mix of friendly competition, laughter and shared challenges created the exact atmosphere VolkerFitzpatrick were looking for – making it the perfect way to celebrate the end of the year and strengthen connections across their senior team.
