Harlequins Rugby Club | Conference and Team Building Experience The Brief

The Brief

The famous Harlequins Rugby Club invited The Big Smoke Events to deliver a high-energy and highly competitive team-building experience for their energetic sports team, who were coming from a team talk with Johnny Wilkinson, so not an easy act to follow!

The Harlequins team combined everyone from various departments, including new inductees as well as senior management, so the brief was to create something fun, competitive and memorable, while making full use of their amazing indoor and outdoor event spaces.

The Solution

We designed a 9-hole bespoke Crazy Golf Challenge Show course to transform their spaces into vibrant mini sporting arenas, where 2 teams of 2 players would go head-to- head on each hole.

We added another fun competitive edge by featuring personalised Harlequins trivia questions on each hole, from company history to fun team facts, which each team had to answer on the back of their scorecards.

In another effort to exceed the brief, we also created quirky team challenges to gain points, such as the blindfold putt, where a player from each team had to attempt a putt blindfolded with our specially adapted Big Smoke challenge ball!

To add to the atmosphere, we had large-screen visuals incorporating a live leaderboard, together with a personalised music playlist throughout.

The Result

The Crazy Golf Challenge Show delivered a laughter-filled, highly competitive and social team-building experience for Harlequins.

By transforming their event space with an innovative crazy golf experience, we created genuine excitement and team connection amongst newly joined and senior members of the club.
