How to plan the ultimate Christmas party for your team this year

It’s been a year! Shall we say it louder for the people at the back… IT’S BEEN A YEAR! So inevitably, that means this year’s Christmas party has to be bigger and better than ever: your employees deserve nothing less!

Whether you’re working from home, or working through everything if your business requires key workers: they’ve been through a lot and now is the time to show them your gratitude, say a huge ‘thank you’ and to all be together (whether that’s in person or, virtually!). How exciting is that?

Planning a Christmas party is a big task, whether you have 5 or 500 employees, because at the end of the day, you want everyone to have fun. But this year, the task seems even bigger and the pressure is looming… But don’t fret: because we‘re here to take the pressure off!

Want to know how to throw an unforgettable Christmas party for your team? You’ve come to the right place - get your pen and paper out and get ready to take some serious notes…

Ask for feedback on previous parties

Was there an outstanding event that everyone remembers, any funny stories or dress up themes that really got them laughing? It’s good to take note of what didn’t work well either - maybe a location just wasn’t everyone’s’ cup of tea? Feedback is good!

Lock in the date and time

People have lives outside of work (well, they finally do again!) so working out a date that suits everyone is vital. Maybe schedule it mid-week, so it doesn't encroach on their weekend? You could always be extra awesome and give them the next morning off to recover, then serve up bacon baps when they get back into the office to cure any lurking hangovers. We predict awesome boss points there! Don’t forget, once you’ve locked the date in, build the excitement up and send out the invites via email!

What’s the budget?

This is important: what can you afford as a business and what will it include? If the budget is tight, then why not put on a supermarket spread before you leave the office to head onto the main Christmas event!

Choose an awesome venue

The venue choice will obviously be impacted by your budget, but whether you’re flashing the cash or keeping it chill, we know some really cool places in London that will make for the perfect celebration. Day or night, restaurant or ping pong, comedy club or trivia quiz in your office; we’ve got it covered.

The activity!

This is the fun part, both for you and for us. Including an activity is a great way to bring your team together! Whether you’re taken with our very fun Scavenger Hunt or fancy some action-packed (with a side of banter!) ping pong, we’ve got just the activity to keep your employees laughing!

Or maybe your party is being held virtually this year? We’re pretty awesome at creating some kick-ass personalised quizzes!

Send out the invites in advance

Once all of the above is set in stone, you need to tell your teams where, when and how in order to confirm numbers. If there is an activity being put on (these usually go down well!), tell them what to expect. Basically, make sure they know exactly what will be happening, what to wear etc. This will also get them excited and boost up that festive morale in the office!
